HydraFacial Benefits

The HydraFacial can be used to even out skin texture, reduce discoloration and breakouts, and brighten your appearance, leaving you with a radiant skin tone. This resurfacing treatment is safe for most skin types, including patients with sensitive skin.

Additional benefits of HydraFacials include:

  • No downtime. The HydraFacial is a safe outpatient procedure that does not require any special preparation. A Licensed Esthetician can complete these treatment, allowing you to return to your normal activities in the same day. Plus, HydraFacial patients experience little to no irritation, meaning you don’t have to deal with unsightly redness following the procedure.
  • Near-immediate results. Unlike other resurfacing procedures that may require recovery time, the HydraFacial works almost instantly on your skin. You can experience improved skin texture, the absence of blackheads, and improved hydration and rejuvenation.
  • Personalized experiences. With the HydraFacial, you can customize your treatment to include certain add-ons, called boosters. For example, the Circadia Chrono-Peptide Booster reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, energizing the skin. The Hydrafacial Regen GF Booster improves collagen and elastin production, removing toxins from the skin.
  • Less-congested pores. Impurities clogged in our pores can contribute to breakouts and unsightly acne. With a HydraFacial treatment, you can remove the dirt, oil, and grease that’s collected in your pores using thorough deep-cleaning technology. As a result, you can enjoy healthier, more radiant skin.
  • No irritation. Unlike other chemical peels and traditional extractions, the HydraFacial soothes and hydrates your skin as it works. With other facial methods, your skin can feel red and irritated for up to 24 hours. But since HydraFacial works immediately and does not irritate the skin, you can resume your regular activities immediately. You can even put on makeup! These characteristics make the HydraFacial an excellent treatment to undergo before a big event like a wedding.
  • Consistent outcomes. The HydraFacial technology is patented by HydraFacial itself. That means all of the serums, add-ons, boosters, and other materials used by your Bella Medspa esthetician come directly from the manufacturer. As a result, HydraFacials produce consistent results, and you can be guaranteed a high-quality treatment each and every time you visit us.
  • Enhanced effects. On their own, microdermabrasion and moisturizing antioxidant serums provide many benefits for the skin. HydraFacial combines the power of these treatments into one effective procedure that produces science-backed benefits. In fact, one study found that combining microdermabrasion with an antioxidant serum increased skin thickness and collagen production in only six weeks. Plus, participants’ antioxidant levels increased by 32%.

The HydraFacial can benefit many skin conditions, from deep lines and wrinkles to old acne scars. However, some patients should abstain from HydraFacials to avoid further skin damage. If you have active rashes, sunburns, or rosacea, HydraFacials can cause further damage and flare-ups. If you are pregnant, you may also want to avoid HydraFacials. Salicylic acid and other active ingredients have not been proven safe for use during pregnancy.

How the HydraFacial Skin Care Procedure Works

Also known as hydradermabrasion, the HydraFacial procedure combines microdermabrasion-like exfoliation with hydrating serums. The simple three-step process works to exfoliate, deep-clean, and hydrate your skin, removing impurities with little downtime. This system cleanses, extracts, and hydrates your skin more effectively than traditional chemical peels.

Here’s what to expect when you visit Bella Medspa for the HydraFacial treatment:

  • First, your esthetician will move a vortex wand across your skin’s surface. This tool will remove impurities clogged deep in your pores like blackheads . The esthetician will also use chemical peels to exfoliate your skin.
  • Next, your esthetician will use a vacuum-like attachment with the wand to extract additional impurities from your pores, revealing radiant skin.
  • Finally, the procedure will conclude with moisturizing antioxidant serums. Your esthetician will replace the vacuum with a pen-like attachment to apply serums packed with ingredients like glycolic and hyaluronic acid to your skin.
  • Your esthetician may follow your HydraFacial with add-on treatments such as dermal fillers or light therapy using LED light. You can choose to purchase these add-ons to treat skin concerns before your first appointment.

Your esthetician at Bella Medspa will then provide you with aftercare instructions and recommendations. Depending on your skin type, you may need to attend follow-up treatments to reach your goals.

For the first few days after your HydraFacial, avoid other exfoliating treatments. Although redness, peeling, or other signs of irritation are uncommon, the HydraFacial is a treatment that involves significant exfoliation. Studies show that over-exfoliation can harm your skin by damaging your skin barrier, causing redness and irritation.

How to Prepare for a HydraFacial

Like all cosmetic procedures, preparation is key for ensuring the effectiveness of your HydraFacial. Before your HydraFacial, the Bella Medspa staff will create a treatment plan based on your skin condition. The plan will include information about your skincare routine, treatments to take to prepare for the HydraFacial, and what to avoid before and after the procedure.

Taking steps to avoid exfoliation, limit sun exposure, and modify your skincare routine can help your skin soak up the antioxidant benefits of the targeted serums and add-ons. Although everyone’s skin is different, the following guidelines can improve your HydraFacial experience:

  • At least six months before your first HydraFacial, stop taking isotretinoin. This acne medication may not be safe to use in conjunction with HydraFacial’s targeted serums and exfoliation. If you recently took or are currently taking isotretinoin, speak to an esthetician at Bella Medspa.
  • Two weeks before your first HydraFacial, avoid laser treatments, chemical peels, and dermal fillers.
  • One week before your treatment, do not schedule Botox appointments before your HydraFacial. You can schedule a Botox appointment for the day of your HydraFacial, but you’d need to undergo that after your HydraFacial procedure.
  • For at least three days before your HydraFacial, avoid tanning and sun exposure as much as possible. If you do have to be outside in the sun, always wear sunscreen with an SPF of at least 35. If you have fair skin, you may need a stronger sunscreen formulation. Speak to an esthetician at Bella Medspa to receive a recommendation.
  • Two days before your HydraFacial, stop using all over-the-counter acne medications and acne treatments, including salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide. You should also avoid waxing your face or using any exfoliating treatments such as glycolic acid or enzyme-based exfoliants. You should also avoid tretinoin products.
  • On the day of your HydraFacial, do not shave your face. If you feel like you must shave, make sure to do it at least three to four hours before your appointment. Prior to your appointment, ask your Bella Medspa esthetician if they can recommend a cleanser to wash your face before and after your treatment. Some ingredients can be irritating, so it is important to plan your skincare routine in advance.
  • Remember, these are general guidelines. If your Bella Medspa esthetician recommends a different treatment plan, follow their advice.

HydraFacial Before and After

HydraFacials reduce discoloration, improve skin texture, and boost your overall skin health. With treatments targeted at your specific skin concerns, the HydraFacial is not a one-size-fits-all experience. Our clients love their personalized procedures and the feel-good effects of treatment add-ons.
