FAQs

If you have only ever used home laser hair removal devices or you have never experienced laser hair removal, it's understandable that you may have some questions. Here are a few examples of questions that we often receive:

What Would I Get Done?

We know that you may have some frustrations with hair growth, especially dark hair in hard to conceal areas, and we also know that laser hair removal can result in beautiful, smooth skin in no time. Whether you’re feeling insecure about facial hair or you’re just tired of having to deal with it, our treatment is quick, relatively painless, and done comfortably for an affordable price. Best of all, we work around your schedule.

  • Sample Treatment Areas:
  • Nape of neck
  • Lip/Chin
  • Unibrow
  • Bikini line
  • Cheeks
  • Sideburns

How Does It Work?

In order for us to develop a treatment plan that meets your goals, we ask that you inform us if there is a treatment area on which you'd like us to focus. For example, are your underarms an area of your body that embarrasses you? Perhaps you're more interested in facial hair removal? Letting us know about these preferences will only increase the possibility of a successful procedure.

Our lasers use a concentrated beam of light to damage the melanin in hair follicles that produce those unwanted and unruly areas of hair. By damaging those follicles over a series of six to 12 treatments, we'll slow and eventually stop the hair growth at the source. This non-invasive procedure is aided with numbing agents, which typically involve placing ice directly on the skin for patients' comfort during the procedure. After their first treatment, some patients notice as much as a 5 - 10% decline in hair growth in the treated area.

Laser Hair Removal should be performed every six to seven weeks on the desired area for optimal results. You can still shave as necessary, and with little to no down time you'll be free to go about your day after the procedure has concluded.

All of our locations utilize the best technology for laser hair removal, and our medical estheticians receive annual training to ensure that they're up-to-date on best practices and client safety.

Why Should I Invest in Laser Hair Removal?

Aside from the safety and long-term practicality of laser hair removal, your skin will thank you! Less shaving means less redness, ingrown hairs, and razor burn. Laser hair removal shows better results quicker than waxing or plucking and can help with skin darkness caused by “five o’clock shadow” or years of razors!

Is Laser Hair Removal Affordable?

We take pride in our affordable prices. Regardless of the area and or type of hair removal you’re seeking, we have pricing that fits within your budget. Also, having locations all over Pennsylvania enables us to fit into most everyone’s busy schedules, so check your closest Bella Medspa location's website for their daily hours.

What's the Difference Between Laser Hair Removal and Electrolysis?

It's important to remember that laser hair removal can benefit clients regardless of their hair color or skin color. While it's true that electrolysis is backed by the FDA, laser hair removal offers all of the same benefits with a faster recovery time. Electrolysis requires subsequent rest, whereas with laser hair removal you can immediately return to your daily routine.

What are the Side Effects?

One of the great benefits of utilizing laser hair removal is the fact that there are minimal side effects. Although you may see mild irritation in the treated areas, the only significant side effect that you will see is hair-free skin. Still, it's important that you abstain from your regular skincare routine for a few days before and after the procedure so you don't irritate the area.

What Should I Do To Maintain My Results?

There are several practical steps that you can take to maintain the hair-free results of laser hair removal. A few examples include:

  • Be sure to use sunscreen any time you may be exposed to the sun for an extended period of time.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure whenever possible.
  • Try not to overly tweeze the area. Constant tweezing can cause your skin to become irritated and raw over time.
