Brazilian Butt Lift is a minimally invasive procedure in which unwanted fat is removed from one body area and transfered to the buttocks. In one office visit, using local anesthesia, the patient can reduce fat in their abdomen and have it transfered to the buttocks.

BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT BEFORE & AFTER

Brazilian Butt Lift Procedure

The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure – properly known as “gluteal fat grafting” – is a cosmetic surgery procedure where fat is transferred from other parts of the body to the buttocks in order to create more volume and fullness.

The BBL procedure is among the fastest growing body sculpting procedures in the U.S., where the number of BBL procedures rose by 280% between 2011 and 2015.

This procedure is carried out using local anesthesia. The doctor uses liposuction to remove fat from areas of the body with excessive fat tissue, such as the hips, abdomen, or thighs. Liposuction involves inserting a suction tube through a small incision and vacuum-removing fat tissue.

The removed fat tissue is then treated to purify the fat and prepare it for injection. The fat is injected into the buttocks through several small incisions. The incisions are sutured and dressed to prevent infection or bleeding.

Despite its name, the Brazilian Butt Lift is not a traditional “lift” procedure because loose skin is not removed. However, the implanted and sculpted fat causes the skin around the buttocks to become tighter, providing an enhanced cosmetic effect. But where does the fat come from? It is removed, by means of gentle liposuction, from problem areas of your choice, such as the thighs, love handles, abdomen, and lower back.

The Brazilian Butt Lift is a minimally invasive procedure, involving small incisions to insert a tiny suction and injection tube. No artificial implants are used. Stitches aren’t even needed, and bruising and bleeding are usually minimal. The procedure is done on an outpatient basis, so patients are able to return home to recover shortly after the procedure.

BBL Recovery

Following a BBL procedure, people must avoid sitting on their buttocks, and sleeping on their back for two weeks while the swelling resolves and the body heals. Following a BBL, the inserted fat undergoes changes as the body adjusts, and the body removes some of the fat.

Ultrasound studies have shown that the fat thickness decreases by about 20% by 12 months. Despite this slight reduction in size in the first year, the majority of the effects of the surgery may be expected to last for years. Depending on individual body type and the desired look, more than one procedure may be required for some people to obtain or maintain the desired results.
